CoolSculpting

Why Now Is the Time to Learn About CoolSculpting

If you’re tired of looking in the mirror to see unsightly bulges or curves where you don’t want them, the new, FDA-cleared CoolSculpting method may be for you. You may have seen the satisfied patients of CoolSculpting on Dr Oz and wondered if the treatment would be helpful in your situation. Instead of using an incision and suction to remove unwanted fat from specific sites on your body such as what happens during a liposuction procedure, the CoolSculpting method uses state-of-the-art technology that doesn’t cause damage or scarring of the skin. CoolSculpting is a non-surgical fat freezing treatment based upon scientific methods developed by Wellman Center for Photomedicine at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. This procedure aims to create a more sculpted version of you.

What CoolSculpting Is

The CoolSculpting fat freezing procedure has been cleared by the FDA as a way to eliminate spots of unwanted fat without the risks of surgical interventions. Specific fat cells are targeted by the CoolSculpting wand. After the cells are treated, they crystallize and die. Your body processes the dead cells over a period of a few weeks or months, resulting in fewer fat accumulations on your body. During the procedure, the device is positioned on your body by the physician. Controlled cooling is applied. You can be fully awake during your treatment. No anesthetics or pain relievers are needed. During your session, you’ll be able to rest comfortably and read a book, check texts from work or just relax and take a nap. Multiple areas of fat can be treated in a single session. You may need one session or a few sessions to achieve your desired level of results.

CoolSculpting Side Effects

Unlike traditional surgical treatments to remove unwanted fat from the body, the Coolsculpting risks are minimal. During your session, you may feel some discomfort, such as pulling or tugging sensations under your skin. The typical CoolSculpting risks include temporary numbness at the treatment site. You may also notice redness, swelling, bruising or pain over the treated areas. Most CoolSculpting pain is temporary and can be treated at home with over-the-counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen, acetaminophen or naproxen sodium. A few patients may experience rare side effects. Your physician will assess your candidacy for the procedure and explain what your personal risks would be. You can return to your normal activities right after your procedure is finished. You may even be able to go back to work on the same day.

Each person’s results from the CoolSculpting procedure vary, but you’ll be able to see clear results after two months with continuing improvement four to six months after your CoolSculpting session. You don’t have to do anything special in terms of diet, supplement or exercise after your treatment. However, your new level of self-confidence may inspire you to try a new workout or continue to physically challenge yourself. After having CoolSculpting procedure, many of our patients take excellent care of themselves and maintain the sculpted look that the procedure created.

Estimating CoolSculpting Costs

The CoolSculpting price varies for each patient and situation. Your exact cost will depend on the areas you need to have treated, the number of sessions and your treatment goals. You and your physician will create a customized treatment plan that will include your budget for CoolSculpting costs, your body and your desired results. Concerns about the procedure cost should not hinder you from getting the body you want. You can work with the office financial specialist at Brooks Plastic Surgery to create a financial plan that fits your budget.
